Chiropractic Adjustments-
Our chiropractic treatments are patient centered and evidence based!  At Balanced Spine and Rehab our care focuses on proper joint and soft tissue function. The human body needs to move well to live well. Dysfunctional motion of a joint causes the surrounding soft tissue structures such as muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments and fascia to lack optimal performance creating the sensation of pain and or tissue damage.  Adjusting involves placing the body into a safe position to encourage the desired movement and applying quick, gentle push or pull forces on the joints.

Active Release Technique (ART) is a hands on method used at Balanced Spine and Rehab to evaluate and treat soft tissue dysfunction and pain. This technique was developed by Micheal Leahy, DC and has become the gold standard in treatment of soft tissue dysfunction.
ART starts by the doctor using her hands to feel the injured tissue. For example, a sore muscle causes pain due to tightness and or fatigue. When a muscle is tight it can also become weak and creates dysfunction and loss of range of motion. Then the doctor supplies compression to the tissue and actively or passively stretches the soft tissue.
FAKTR / Graston-
FAKTR (Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab) is a well-known and trusted instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) techniques that focus on restoring the proper function and tissue quality of the musculoskeletal system.  This technique utilize specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis, adhesions, and/or chronic inflammation.  If adhesions persist, muscles and joints become restricted enabling proper function and movement of the muscles and joints.  IASTM induces a mild state of inflammation within the designated treatment area to improve the natural healing process of the tissue.   FAKTR is a innovative technique utilized to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions presented from chronic conditions implementing a faster rehabilitation and recovery time.
Rocktape is a brand of Kinseotape. The taping is the application of elastic adhesive tape that helps eliminate pain as well as aid in proper soft tissue function. Soft tissues include muscle, ligament, tendon, and joint. There are many different elastic tape brands and techniques such as KT tape, Kinesio Tape, Rocktape, Spider Tech, Theraband, and SPRT.  KT tape has evolved therapeutic approach and the in-between visit care for patients of all types.
One benefit of elastic tape is that it allows for the soft tissue and joints to biomechanically move more efficiently without adding bulky wraps or heavy braces (as seen with traditional white athletic tape). Meaning it allows for a more effective and natural healing process to take place. The corrective taping procedures and technique can aid in eliminating symptoms such as low back pain, knee pain, shin splints, tennis elbow, shoulder pain, and plantar fasciitis.

At the core of DNS is proper breathing and bracing techniques for everyday life not just for the athlete.  Visit www.rehabps.com for more info.
Therastim –

Therastim or Electric Stimulation is a great way to assist the body in healing. Simply by applying a small electrical current through the affected soft tissue injury or muscle spasm. This modality uses the current to reduce swelling and release trigger points that restrict normal muscle movements. It also helps release natural body pain relievers ( endorphins).
